Extra Long Sensors

These are the longest force sensing resistors (FSR) that money can buy. They include a full 24" (610mm) of sensing area to make sure each side of your bed is covered. Includes accurate "in bed" detection for any bed with slats. It stays out of the way and conveniently mounts between the mattress and bed slats. The extra long sensors mean that it can easily handle King, Queen, and Full sized beds. Twin sized beds can be covered with a single sensor.

Want to use it with a box spring, upholstered base, solid platform, or foundation? You’ll need the Universal Mounting Kit (sold separately) to ensure reliable performance with non-slatted beds.

  • Yes. Bed Presence Mk1 uses custom dynamic calibration to adapt automatically to your specific setup. Whether you have a heavy hybrid, dense memory foam, or a traditional innerspring mattress, the calibration process tunes sensitivity to your exact mattress weight and thickness.

  • It depends on your bed's foundation:

    • Standard Slats (No extra kit needed): Works directly with slats at least 1” wide with 2.5”+ spacing. Secures via included screws or mounting tape.

    • Box Springs, Upholstered Bases, Solid Platforms: Add the Universal Mounting Kit to your order.

    • Slats Under 1" Wide: Grab the Universal Mounting Kit and place a small rigid spacer (like 1/4" plywood) across multiple slats to distribute pressure evenly. Mount on top of the new platform.

  • No minimum weight is required! The sensor is sensitive enough to pick up small children on standard beds, and the setup calibration automatically adjusts to your specific mattress.

    (Note: Bed Presence Mk1 is designed for home automation only and is not certified for infant or medical monitoring.)

  • Yes! The setup simply depends on how your bed moves:

    • Split-Adjustable (Sides move independently): Purchase 2 Single Sensors + 2 Twin Mounting Kits. Independent movement requires dedicated sensing for each side.

    • Standard Adjustable (One-piece top, moves as a single unit): Purchase 1 Dual Sensor + 1 Dual Mounting Kit, attached to the static (non-pivoting) section of the frame.

    • Split Frame, Fixed Base: Purchase 1 Dual Sensor + 1 Dual Mounting Kit on the shared flat section.

    Note on Articulating Sections: Mounting sensors directly onto sections that tilt or angle can shift weight distribution. While the sensor may still detect presence, it may require fine-tuning during initial calibration.
